Where do these brake parts go?
I picked up the caliper hardware kit today and realized it has o rings in it. When i pulled my calipers apart there were none, I guess the PO left them off.
The page in my manual shows them, and shows the order they go on in relation to the pad, but leave out the caliper mounting plate, not sure of its name. I try to show in my pics what I mean. Between which parts do both o rings go?

Re: Where do these brake parts go?
Large O ring pops into the ear of the caliper which has the largest hole, the sleeve goes inside the large O ring. The small O ring goes inside the caliper ear that has the small hole. The caliper bolt slides thru the sleeve and into the ear with the small O ring allowing the caliper to float inward and outward as the brakes are applied. Be sure to lubricate the O rings and exterior of the sleeve. The illustration at the top of the page shows the proper sequence.

Re: Where do these brake parts go?
I went out and mocked up what I think you are saying. I am still not sure I have them right.
The small o ring / bushing seems like it is doing nothing and is not really held in place. Pictures:

More pics. I am not sure the big o ring / bushing is in the right place either.

Re: Where do these brake parts go?
I just did mine a few months ago. The old o-rings were so covered in dirt they were hard to even see. In your first picture the o-ring needs to go inside the caliper then put the steel bushing in. The o-ring holds the bushing in the caliper if that makes sense. The smaller o-ring goes in the other side of the caliper. If you follow the pin all the way to the end it should actually sit inside the caliper at that end. That o-ring just helps line up the end of the pin. I will see if I can dig up any pics of when I did mine if that doesn't make sense.

Re: Where do these brake parts go?
Thank you, I will take a look in the morning to see if there is a channel for them to sit inside within the caliper ears.

Re: Where do these brake parts go?
I looked closer and the original pieces were still in there where you said they would be. They were so covered in grime I thought they were part of the casting! Hopefully this helps someone else with the same problem.
