Bed and cab

I have a 1967 chevy c10 and was wondering if anybody knows how to get the cab lines and bed to line up?The passenger is always higher when I look at c10s.see pic right in the middle.

Re: Bed and cab

1/ Check the cab mount on passenger side...it may be collapsed and rotted, dropping that side.

2/ If this is a new build and someone put cab mounts in, they may not have set the height correctly...

3/ You can always add large washers between the top of the cab mount and floor to align the body lines....

4/ Someone may have added replacement bed cross rails that are not the correct height...

Just my initial thoughts...

Re: Bed and cab

Make sure the body support rubber bushes are installed correctly and are not collapsed...if they are in good condition the only option is to add spacer washers between the top of the bushing and the floor....

This can happen when the floor of the cab and the body mounts were not setup correctly before being replaced....

Also...make sure the bed is tightened down fully on the passenger side front mount point...I have seen these bed twist enough to throw off the body alignment lines.

Re: Bed and cab

Interesting the body lines in that original pic are in line...pointing to some mis alignment during rebuild...

If you added rubber pads between the frame and bed that would be your problem. They didn't have them from the factory.....

Re: Bed and cab

Loosen the core support mounts and all the cab mounts, then lift the cab until it matches. Then shim everywhere necessary to make it snug again and re-tighten...

It is a single, thick chunk of aluminum with a white backing that appears to be for insulation and dampening. A PO of the truck installed it and painted it to match. Unfortunately there are no markings or other identifying clues anywhere on it. It is a shame too as it's a real nice piece.

This what I had to do^^^. I installed a brand new Prothane bushing kit and had to shim the rear cab mounts and the front bed connections to get it all lined up.
