Cab Rust
I have rust on the drip rail and along the window (front and back) sill. I need help finding a good thread with how to repair the rust. i had found one a few days ago but lost the link ( thinking back i should probably check my history... its 2019). What are some good threads for my situation?

There are some guys on here that have repaired cabs in worse condition but, IMO, it will be easier & less expensive to find another cab. Even if you use two cabs to make one. Once you start stripping it always gets deeper.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to fix the cab. Its not that hard, a good cab around here needs rockers floors corners and a roof!

Not bad looking, I would definitely take a stab at fixing it. 4.5" grinders or 2" pneumatic grinders a sheet of 18 gauge steel and start patching.

Pull the windshield glass and rubber out and repost pics of any new damage you find....
So far, it looks like an easy repair...

Once you pull the windshield, start picking anything loose off with a screwdriver, pull out the old seamsealer that looks suspect to see what's below it. Heat guns can make this much easier. I like to take an angle grinder with a twisted wire wheel to remove the heavy rust after that, but be careful they kick back fast if you catch an edge!
My last cab looked just like yours. I replaced the driprails completely, welded in patches on outer and inner roof, and fiberglassed a few of those heavy pitted areas. Then the floors seem easy after that. |

You can get the parts you need new or or get a donor roof. I've seen worse.

That's minor , Send it out and have it sand blasted for a few hundred bucks and then you'll see what you really have .
