Carrier Bearing....?

I am cleaning/rebuilding the driveshafts from my 47.5 3600. I have them apart and the "carrier bearing" is pretty much crystalized. It's the (formerly...) rubber type (or okem..?). I need a replacement. Where is a good place to get one, and what are they calling it?

Actually - mine is just a "rubber donut" without a bearing. The two local parts houses have no clue, and can't find one online.....

Re: Carrier Bearing....?

The filling station shows both the bearing (it has to have a bearing) and the support cushion that you are asking about.

One reason you aren't finding it is that is not a "carrier" bearing (those go inside the rear axle) it is a center support bearing.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

The bearing is inside the driveshaft....I just need the "Center Support Cushion" and the cork torque tube seal....Now that I have the correct name, it makes it easier to find. Jim Carter has it ], but on back order. Probably go wit Filling Station....

Re: Carrier Bearing....?

!/2 ton closed drive shaft? or 3/4 ton open drive shaft. I had it in my mind that you had a 3/4 ton.

If you have a 1/2 ton closed driveshaft you need an "oakie" bushing. that is only for closed drive trucks though. https://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb...rt~A2~cadefefx

It is a 3/4 ton....The front half is enclosed, the rear one is open. I need the rubber one you posted earlier...
