Hey guys - Richard from Vintage Auto Radio has just finished rebuilding my original radio with FM, bluetooth, etc. I can't wait for it to arrive.

I am currently running an Alpine cassette deck with a small Alpine Amp mounted under passenger seat made for marine (boats). I have 4, 4" speakers - 2 in the doors and 2 in the back panels right behind the front seats where most have them.

I am thinking of getting a powered sub now that I have the proper radio coming. I'm prone to country music and primarily 80's rock music. Not overly interested in the base vibrating everything like the kids do today. But I'm in search of that nice thick sound of a kick drum that we used to get out of big trunks in cars, or bigger speaker boxes. I am curious what others are running. I'd almost prefer to have them (or it) under the back seat. I've seen a few that are designed for that but not sure of the performance. Open to suggestions.

I have a similar set-up
5¼" in the doors(they were already cut)
6x9 3 way JBL in the side panels behind the seats
a 10" Kicker sub under the rear seat with low profile enclosure
2000 watt Pioneer 5 channel amp under the driver's seat
speakers bridged to 2 ohms
it sounds amazing..so clear and the bass is adjustable..(it will thump thump if you like)

two thing I had to do to make it fit
1. modified the crossover rod brackets on the driver seat slider to clear the amp
2. made some black plastic 1" blocks to raise the rear seat to clear the sub

Tucking the sub into the bedside behind the back seat is the best and least intrusive option in my opinion. I am leaning that way... but I also want to run the factory cst panels so we'll see.
