Wheel/tyre advice

Sorry, another question about rims and tires. I went through this forum for days and made my choice as to the type of rims and tires I want under the C10. I just want advice on the right sizes. I bought a 1971 C10 SWB stepside:



Rims are personal, but the 20 inch rims are not my cup of tea.

I want to put these rims and tires under the C10:



The C10 is equipped with 5-hole rims and is lowered 4/6.

with the current rims there are no inner fenders, I want to have them.

Have I understood correctly here on the forum that the rear axle of a 1971 is slightly wider than a pre 1970 C10? I first thought of a combination of 15 inch rims, 9J at the rear and 8J at the front. this in combination with 275/60/15 tires. (with white letters)

or is it wiser to order four rims of 8J? I want to prevent the tires from bumping against the inner fenders or outer fenders

would like some advice from experts

There isn't going to be much difference in clearance between the two rim sizes with the same tire size. The offset of the rim is what is going to make or break the deal. Especially if you are running dropped spindles. See the link to compare the rims.
Another thing to consider is tire life. In my experience 275's wear longer on a 9 or 10 inch rim.

15 inch rims might not fit on the front depending on how the front is dropped.
If it’s a lowered spindle and cut coils it might.
You might have interference with the rotor or tie rods.
You’ll need to measure first.

Tx for the information, then I have to wait for the truck to arrive here in the Netherlands. The truck has drop spindles, and, I assume because of the 4” lowering, springs.

The other solution could be to switch to 17” smoothies.



I found some nice tyres in Europe, only have to create my own white letter tyres.

Whilst you’re waiting it might be a good idea to find a stock steel 15 inch rim to use to see what will fit.
Not wasted money as you might need a spare tire anyway.

Question for you what size rims and tires are on the original pic. You said 20's but I actually want that look. 245 x20 x 8.5 in front and 255 x 20 x 10 in rear is that what you have in original pic.
