52 inch front springs

I've searched with no results at all for 52 inch rear springs on the front of a 67-72 truck. I would think the ride quality itself would be worth the effort. Has anyone out there done this or have any solid input on it?

Where did you search? Hop on over to the 4x4 & off road forum. I've seen plenty of threads about B52s. They absolutely provide a much smoother ride.

Thank you. I'm fairly new to the site and didn't even know about the 4x4 forum.

Re: 52 inch front springs

Its such a nice kit, I think quite a few members have done it. I wanted it for one of my projects but it gave me too much lift. I think it comes in a 4 and 6 inch lift.

I emailed him twice to see if there was a way to work it so it only added 2.5 but he never responded.

Re: 52 inch front springs

Thanks for the welcomes.

I went to the 4x4 forum. That's what I was looking for. Thank you for the direction.

Current: 1972 k10 custom. 350/465/205 12 bolt/dana44 3.73's limited slip

Plans: big block chevy/nv4500/205 14 bolt/gm dana 60

4 inch lift give or take a little and 33s or 35s.

Typical cruise around with my wife cool old truck.

...and maybe smoke all four tires if threatened.

The B52 bracket kit itself actually provides no lift at all. Just moves the spring mounting points to allow a longer spring. Kit does not come with springs. The springs you use will determine the amount of lift. Factory rear springs have more arch than front, so yes the vehicle will be lifted.

Re: 52 inch front springs

6 inch shackles are standard with the kit, but I was told 4 inch were available. So am I understanding something wrong here? When I asked ages ago in the 4x4 area someone told me I would just have to contact manufacturer

Re: 52 inch front springs

Factory shackles are 4" Going to a 6" shackle will only lift 1" over factory shackle. Longer shackle moves one end of spring. Will lift vehicle half of the difference,

Re: 52 inch front springs

Well Ill be, Richard where were you when I needed you? lol. Im looking to have approx 2.5 inch lift all the way around on my Burb. I love the ride of the longer springs. I think it makes a pretty big difference.

Re: 52 inch front springs

Do not want to highjack op's thread to much here. Did you look into Deaver or Atlas replacement leafs? The B52 kit is nice if you have access to a cheap pair of factory rear leafs. It will end up lifting 4"-5" going that way. Now if you go custom leafs with the B52 it is getting more expensive.

Hey there Richard. I back your play completely. We're all supposed to help each other on these boards. I don't mind the hijack at all. I think a lot of people don't realize that the 52s by themselves will yield a solid 4-5 inches of lift depending on the spring pack.
