Front brake Caliper Help

I have a 1985 C30 and just installed a 6" drop in the front with 3" drop spindles and springs. While rebuilding the entire front end, I went ahead and bought all new brake components including calipers. Now the issue is I can't get the new brake calipers to fit these spindles to save my life.

I've tried to even install them without pads and still no luck. It's almost as if I need to grind one or other down for it to fit, and not a fan of that AT ALL.

They are both made for clip on calipers. Here are the parts ordered:

WST-13600 - Western Chassis 3" Drop Spindles
Part # 18-4167 - Wearever Unloaded Caliper

Any suggestions, tips, etc.?

Here is my new project/baby fresh out of paint. I've been wanting one of these for over 15 years.

gonna need pics of the non-fitting parts if you want good advice. you're either doing something wrong, or they were machined wrong. show us how they're not fitting.

I will get pictures today. To try and explain it better the caliper does not fit the spindle. I can slide it in at the top grove on the caliper/spindle and the amount of clearance for the bottom to slide into place before sliding/beating in the bracket and bar to sit correctly in the lip is not even close.

But I will get pics soon, I know it's kind of hard to picture. Also never owned a truck with clip on calipers. So much fun

Pictures:

So the top is set inside the lip (Unloaded no pads) and you see how far off the bottom is from sliding into the bottom grove. Even if I slide it in the bottom first have the same issue at the top.

Hope this helps.

Re: Front brake Caliper Help

need to measure the distance on a stock spindle, and check against the dropped one. looks like they are machined way to big on the opening. very strange.
