Precision Rear Weatherstrip Rant Come on in if you have one

Purchased part number WCR 1092 T with groove for my 72 rear with trim.
The issue I'm having is the bottom horizontal piece has the groove and slot for the trim. The sides and top have the groove but no lip to insert the trim.

Am I missing something? I've called Precision and got the 'someone will call you back' response. As to which no one has called me back in several days. I'm aware its after Christmas, but come on. Due diligence here.

Anyone seen this? Do I have a bad batch? I've ordered it through summit racing.

In hopes that something was messed up, Ive ordered another one. Should be here tomorrow.

Has anyone ran into this? Quite frustrating as again the top and sides will not sit flush with the trim. But the bottom inserts just fine.

Pics attached. You can clearly see the opening in the bottom horizontal piece. And then the upper, there is no slit opening.

Re: Precision Rear Weatherstrip Rant Come on in if you have one

Yes front windshield is just fine. Apparently, Precision makes two models for the rear. WCR1092 T with groove and one without. So, the trim groove appears to be the correct model for the stainless trim.
But, there just isnt a lip cut for the trim to actually insert. That is the frustrating part.

Hopefully, the replacement one I receive tomorrow is different. Time will tell. But, I've always had good luck with Precision.

C'mon man. Really? This thread is not about you. He posted this thread to get assistance not give you assistance. I mean, really. Don't you know how to start your own thread?

Tutone, I wish I could help. My truck has a slider, so no trim, and I had no issues. hopefully someone helpful will be able to help. I want to ask, does the bottom groove look the same as the top where the trim doesn't fit? I guess when you get the next gasket you can compare. Hopefully not the same issue

Correct. The bottom had the groove whereas the sides did not.

The replacement I received from Summit has the correct groove. Precison stated it was most likely a defect when I got a hold of them.

So, crisis averted. For now

Re: Precision Rear Weatherstrip Rant Come on in if you have one

Good read/information. I been hunting a slider window and if I ever find one I'll know I need to get a new rubber seal (I have SS trim). So good to know what to look for with getting a Precision Rear Weatherstrip.

You just got some bad luck on the first one you got but it now sounds you are good to go!

Re: Precision Rear Weatherstrip Rant Come on in if you have one

I replaced the one in my '72 Sierra with factory slider, but to stay original I used the non-trim version
