I don't believe so. As a precaution don't throw it out till its working.
The American Auto Wire Harness comes with directions and a connection harness that should work fine for your digital dash.
Get yourself one of these pliers for the crimps if you don't already have one. Can be had for as little as $20 on ebay. They do a great job and complete both required crimps at the same time.
I call the American Auto Wire Harness my IKEA harness. Requires some assembly.
Truthfully they require a lot of assembly.

Re: Dakota Digital Dash Wiring?

yes, you will need some of the wires from the original dash. specifically, the turn signal indicator wires left and right, high beam indicator light. reuse the auto wire power, remember it is switched power. add constant power, I prefer to use the wire from auto wire for cig power. also add the wires from the Dakota digital senders.

Does The Crimping Tool Do Dingle and Double Crimps?
I haven't used it for singles but I assume it could be used that way.

Although most of the ones in the Auto Wiring Kit take the double type crimper tool.
It gets tricky when the spade requires two wires be installed. I just did the best I could and ended up soldering some of them.
I have other crimping tools but for the money the one shown, in the prior post, works the best.
The crimps in the above photo are Auto Wire supplied ends for the turn signal plug.
Auto Wire has what appears to be similar tools on there site.

However, the single crimping tool is a separate tool. AWire wants $160 for the set.

Installing the Auto Wire Kit took a long time. Unlike the factory replacement one end of almost every wire had to be custom fit.
Running them so they were hidden and looked factory took a long time.
The plastic sleeves helps the install look factory when you are done.
