Help me identify this fuse holder! - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have been wrapping up all the loose ends with my truck now that the 500 Caddy motor swap is complete. The wiring has been re-attached to the body and connected to thier components. Right now though, I have perfectly working headlights, (very bright btw now thanks to Rick's headlight conversion) side markers, tail lights, and dash lights. However, my turn signals only turn ON and do not blink. This usually is a bulb burnt out, but (even though I haven't verified) I don't think that's the case. While working to fix an ignition problem, a friend of mine broke this fuse while trying to open it to check it. I don't even know what this fuse is/ does. This is on a black wire with a white stripe. Can somebody tell me what it is/does please. Could this be the reason why my turn signals don't work properly.

Also, the fuse had either 32V or 36V on it??? Is that really the voltage that it is rated for? It also had a 4 on it, is it a 4 amp fuse? One more thing. Not just the fuse was broken when it was opened, but also one of the metal clips inside that holds the fuse broke off. Can I buy a new fuse holder at the local parts store or somewhere else and just splice it back in? Thanks for any help in advance!

That is a 4 AMP fuse for ther ammeter, there is another one on black wire on other side of radiator support. See pic.

Check your flashers-hazard & turn signals-they are installed in your fuse panel-one up and one down.

Yes you can splice in any kind of fuse and holder. If you have an aftermarket Amp or volt guage, then you can just ignore the broken fuse all together, but if you actually use the 30 year old guages, then you'll want to replace the fuse and holder with a 4 amp fuse. Check the one on the other side, it is probably blown too.

Your truck looks pretty nice,a nd the 500 looks sharp too. Since you don't have a fan shroud, and probably won't be making one, you can get a 'finger protector' fan cover from an inline 6 powered truck. It won't help the cooling, but it will give a more finidshed look and save your finger tips too.

Longhorn Man, yes, I've been planning to modify the stock Caddy Deville fan cover with the emissons/timing specs sticker to act as a "finger protector" for my fan. I don't know if I'll make a full blown shroud or not but definately a protector is in the works. I'm going to make a duplicate bracket like the one that supports the upper rad. hose and mirror it to the other side and catch the other original a/c bolt hole boss on the manifold and the inside bolt of the pass. side radiator bracket. With those two brackets in place, it's simply going to lay across them on top as sheet metal and act as the protector. The stock Caddy sticker will be centered on the plate and give a little hint to the less Caddy familiar eyes.

Also, my turn flasher is only about a year old and worked just fine before I started the motor swap.
