I tried a set of hooker super comps 2202's and wouldn't fit, not saying that's what you have just mentioning it for people that are looking for a larger 2 - 1/8 header for their truck.

I'm going with a built stainless steel 2 - 1/4 stepped to 2 - 3/8 and a custom built dual 4" aluminum exhaust.

swapped out my puller fans and shroud and installed pushers to make room for the vac pump.

Installed the new water pump, alt and vac pump plus drive pulleys on the crank.

Nice build truck is looking good. Wheels and tire combo look great.What's your current motor specs. Also what size are headers in picture. I just tried a set of Hooker 2 1/8 " x 3 1/2" # 2265 Chevelle headers on my truck and couldn't get them to work. Bought them for the Dyno and thought I would try to see if they fit with a few changes. I have the 2" Chevelle headers on now so thought I'd try them.

Current motor is a solid roller 489, here is a link to specific specs, minus now I'm running a Pro Systems 1000cfm 4150 on it.

I'm using a set of Hooker Super Comps #2841 they are for the year of truck but only have a 2" primary on them. I think a custom set is going to be the way to go to get anything bigger that fits.

Got my steering mocked up with some wooden dowel, have to build a bearing support bracket to be able to tell if it is going to work smooth or not. (crosses fingers)

Also got a set of belts for the alt and vac pump figured out and the AN fittings I need ordered.

Well been busy at work and waiting on a machine shop to make me a part for my steering so haven't got too much more done on the project , but most everything that is going on is on minus a 4L of coolant and oil, but there are a few things to come off yet and had some stuff in the cab, cover was on. So anyway to the point decided weight wise would be a wash and within 5-10lbs of final so took it off the stands to check ride height and threw it on the scales.

was VERY happy to see it shed more weight then I thought, started at 3955 total and now............

Took 239lbs off it, too bad this fall finishing off my cage will add back on, but will be loosing a heavy exhaust for a custom aluminum one to help out a bit.

I had plans of an aluminum block for my next motor build, but don't think I'm going to bother, would love to save even more weight off the front end, but just don't want the quirks that come with it.

The truck looks really good. It looks like the wheelbase has grown like mine has about an inch. In other words they built it to position the tires correctly in the fenderwheels. I really like those wheels too! I never have seen any of the modern wheels that I would even consider using but those are sharp. On another note dont be scared of an aluminium block. I love my Brodix block although it took me awhile to get the power level back it is worth it. They are almost infinitly repairable.

Yes the kit does move their wheel forward. The things that have me swaying away from the aluminum block are the expansion quirks and how it effects valve lash and bearing clearances.

Do you have any real problems or hassel with this, what kind of power loss did you end up with? I'd like to make at least 1100hp with 582 cubes and a SR20 head package.

Scott's was optioned out the way I wanted, I could order keeping stock width and I liked how the motor mounts were just on the inner frame rails and not attached to the bottom cross member. It also seamed like it had the minimum needed components and steel keeping it light, welds on it are top notch too.

If it is also the route you decide to take my one piece of advice is to ask for and deal with Justin on your order.

I never had any bearing issues with mine. As far as valve lash I set mine around .008 and when it warms up its just right. I would imagine an SR 20 would not have the expansion that my Big Dukes do. Dont let it concern you I really loved mine after two water pump failures with no engine damage. Heat dissapation can be your friend...lol

Well pretty much gave up on trying to route the steering shaft past the motor mount, by the header tube and through the frame rail, so decided to get rid of the motor mount.

Plate is cut, have to build and weld brackets for it, once ready for final install I'll smooth out all the cut edges and round the corners.

Well got my motor plate brackets fabbed up and the plate installed, also got my steering shaft routed, and a steady bearing bracket fabled up for the shaft.

I still had to go through the frame rail but that can always be changed when the custom headers are built and the hole in the frame repaired then, I will make that decision when the time comes.

My motor limiters were delayed by UPS and didn't show up on Fri like they were suppose to, should be here tomorrow along with my mid motor plate.

Front accessories and catch can mounted and plumbed.

Limiter kits showed up so if I feel energetic will get them fabbed up tonight.

It's a very nice setup, only downside is it only fits a mini denso.

My Delco barely fits, Its close to the motor plate. But I can fix it cheap if it quits.

It is alive, needs a wheel alignment but it drives steers and stops.
