2007 Battery load module

I just noticed that my alt is not charging... It had the battery load module thing on the battery cable originally. I did not have that to put it in. Will the PCM not just turn the alt on when it sees a drop in voltage?? Can you tune the PCM to charge it normally with out this module??

Thanx
Trevor

Re: 2007 Battery load module

First off what is your engine out of? Typicaly if the battery current sensor fails the pcm or ecm commands a default voltage of approximately 14volts. I have an 05 tahoe engine & left it off with no problems. The battery current sensor is connected to the pcm on my 05 tahoe & depending on what your engine is out of, may be connected to the bcm. You should be able to just leave it off. I would double check your connections first.
