Transfer Case I.D.
2 Attachment(s)
So we pulled my dads 69 k20 truck out of the field its been siting in for more than 12 years and started wrench on it and came across this transfer case under the truck. It doesn't look like any of the usual transfer cases on this gen truck(np205,206). As you may have noticed, I'm new to these trucks. Thanks.

Welcome sir! That is a great start to a nice ride. Wonder why he would just leave it in a field? I guess so he could pass it on to you!

Re: Transfer Case I.D.
Didn't have room at the house and didn't want to get rid of it, that was the next best thing. Yea it's stick.

Re: Transfer Case I.D.
What size tires are on your truck? I assume there is no lift. Do you know if they rub?
I need tires in the future..... Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Transfer Case I.D.
Tires: 35x12.5x16.5 they did rub so I notched out about ~2.5 inches on fender. The rear fit fine with no rubing. When I say no rubing this means on the street, haven't had the chance to articulate the suspention but it looks like there is room. O, and you are correct no lift.

Re: Transfer Case I.D.
Welcome and nice truck. T221's are decent. Make sure it has enough oil at ALL times. They tend to run a little warmer and be a little louder than the 205's but with proper care should fare pretty well
