72 C10 weight

Took a load to the dump this morning and got to weigh in and out at the scales. They have a digital readout. Truck is a 72 c10 long box, ps, pb, ac, with a 350. It has front and rear sway bars, 15x8 steel wheels, 31x10.50-15 tires, 10k Curt hitch, and a full tank of gas.
I checked the display after paying, before I got back on the scale. It was 4,040 lbs. give or take 20 lbs. Their scale displays in 20 lbs. increments.
I was close, I guessed 4200

I have a 72 C10 SWB , I was curious what it weighed also, since it isn’t close to original anymore.
Last fall I took the truck up to the local county transfer station, I can weigh for free, unless I want a printed ticket, then they charge a $15 scale fee.
Anyway the truck weighs 3540 with a half tank of gas. 3760 with me in it ( I should lose 10 pounds)

Truck is radio and heater delete, many other changes as well, Ls swapped with T56 magnum.

Here is the official GM document, which is for the base equipment. Later in this document, the added weights for each option is listed.

Had my K20 weighed many years ago before / after unloading topsoil. Can't recall if I was in the truck, or how much fuel in the tanks (it'll hold 50 gallons).

Anyway, it was 11,300# loaded, and 5300# empty. Three tons of dirt, 40+ miles over the mountain. Steered a bit funny and braking was.... well, I made it without hitting anything. I'll never do that again.

I did 2 yards of clay in an 85 camper special K20, sm465/350. About 30 miles of winding Virginia country roads-up one side of the blue ridge mountains and down the other. I know what you mean about I won’t do that again. My butt had ahold of the seat pretty good more than once.

I hit the link and see its my original post from 2013. Also see a Member named Fitz is now suspended from the sight. Reading his smarta** comments in the thread where he pretty much labels me an idiot I'm not surprised he has had his account suspended as leopards don't change their spots . My point of the comment is that one of the reasons this website is so successful is that people that are disrespectful and don't follow the rules do not last long here. My hats of to Josh and Liz and all the Moderators that keep this site flowing as it does.
