lsx carb swap

Alright guys so i have been thinking about doing a lsx swap to my 79 trans am. My question to any and all out there, is if i get a lsx motor and choose to carb it, do i need to worry about the computer that originally controlled the motor and all its sensors? Also is it possible to bolt up to a th350 or 400th?

Ideally im tryin to get it done without have computer contolled items on the motor trans.......

just tossing up the idea...

It can be done but I would keep the injection.

All you'd need to run a carb is an ignition module (MSD makes one) to fire the stock coils. The only sensors you keep are the crank and cam position sensors. A th350 or 400 will bolt up with a dedicated flexplate.

You could spend big money as well and put a belt drive distributor on it. Personally, I would keep the injection and individual coils, retaining the factory computer. With injection/timing controls it gives you the ability to adjust timing and fuel in 400rpm increments. You can dial it in extreamly well and it is super easy..
