video of the slow ride..

Buddy took a ipod video of a pass at Tucson last race.
First I've heard it from the outside. Not quite as quiet as I thought it would be through the mufflers. Fun truck all street legal , licensed and insured.

Re: video of the slow ride..

Nice run. I assume from the video length about a 9.80 pass? Either way nice run.

Re: video of the slow ride..

Thanks but No sir,, this is the slow ride,, in the 5500' Tucson air it's all it can do to muster high 10's. I was making mid 10's at WildBird or Wild Horse or Firebird or whatever they would like to call it this week, but still just a little ol street driven n/a small block.

Re: video of the slow ride..

Marv, one of these days we should meet up and make a pass together. I bet it would be a pretty good race in the same air.

Re: video of the slow ride..

Shaun I fear the ol red truck would be SPANKED pretty hard in a heads up run with you. I have a tenth on you at the 60, you have .2 and 10MPH on me at the 1/8th and I'm only trapping 119 in 4100' air with a 10.86
Your WAY outpowering me!!! Will 4000' of air make a half a sec.... Iiiiiii wouldn't bet on it!! LOL (but I might get lucky and tree ya some days the old man is quick on the thumb! )

Ohhh sory for the huge scan!

Cableguy,, he definately started late and ended early. Just stopping the video at the 1-2 shift (which data logging gives me exact timing,, is 2.85 seconds after launch) the 'tone' of the 1-2 shift is barely 2 seconds into the pass, and the scoreboard never clicked up the ET/MPH so he shut it off before the stripe.

Re: video of the slow ride..

Marv. Either way its still a nice pass for an old truck. Im going nuts not having anything fun to drive. Sold off the truck and all my junk to buy a house. Now have the house and of course work slowed down a lot. Seems to be picking back up again. Hopefully people get their tax returns and decide to fix their vehicles again. Too many projects going on but want to sneak home with a 67-72. I need cheaper hobbies. Cars and Guns seem to be a tad too expensive LOL.

Re: video of the slow ride..

Marv, I bet it would be closer than you think. My 10.38 pass was in 500' elevation. I wouldn't be surprised to see you go 10.5x in my air. Plus with the new 3.90 gear going in from the 4.56, I bet mine slows down a bit on motor. I would be chasing you down, just not sure I would get around you.. still would be fun!

Re: video of the slow ride..

She went a 10.62 at Speedworld @ 2100', then too I'm only shifting at 6400, she was still making steam at 7200 . Just bracket racing I see no reason to beat up on it. So..... maybe,, but for sure it would be a kick in the pants

Re: video of the slow ride..

So a drop in roughly 2000' gained you .24 in ET plus what ever was left on the table with a short shift. Now it is sounding like it might out run me
