what to do with bumpers..

ok so i have bumpers on my blazer but the PO painted them white. they look HORRIBLE. almost like he painted them with a brush. i can grind/sand them down to the bare metal...but then what?

You could get them re-chromed, but that is expensive these days. You could repaint them white, silver, black or the body color. I'd probably go with either the silver or the white, but the other two could look sharp too.

While you have them off and your stripping them, it looks pretty cool when people weld the bumper bolts into place and then grind the heads off so it is smooth.

Oh yeah, I've seen a few coated with some of the spray in bed liner. It can look tough.

An Awesum Mod For 67-72 Trucks IMO. I would love to do this to my Truck Bumpers someday.

Kinda depends on the final finish your hoping to achieve.

Are you trying to stay on the less $$ side or go for the wow factor?

I'd say just repaint them the color of your choice.
Can't be of any help there cause painting them white or black or body color would all look good on your orange blazer.

You could also have them powdercoated - good durability.

The wow factor will come later. For now, since I already have these, I want them to look good.

you could first try to get the paint off with remover ..... might be the chrome is still salvagable

i got a job again and having fun at it too

idea's for the trucks and the order of things to do are taking shape and get closer to being realized , a few more months and i be able to start building for real

i complete 2 of the trucks intoo running fashion one custom and one basicly stock the thirth will be sacrificed for parts
