Shockwave Question

I have a couple of questions. Is anybody running shockwaves on the rear of there trucks right now. I am wanting to put shockwaves in place of coilovers on the rear of my 79 Pro Street Blazer. The problem I am running into is clearence problems. I only have about 5" of clearance around my coilover right now. Air ride tech makes a 7000 series that is rated for lighter weight vehicles around 1600lbs on the rear axle. It is 4" and would fit perfect as a replacement for my Coilovers, but I am concerned about my blazer being too heavy for them. The 9000 series are rated at 2400lbs on the rear axle and are 5" in diameter. They will not fit without fab. work. Has anybody used 7000 series shockwaves and how do they handle a load. I am not sure what my axle weight is now but with the whole rear cut out and tubbed it should be alot less than factory just not sure if it is less than 1600lbs. Do you guys think I can get away with running the 7000 series.
