I HAVE A 1970 C-10 LOOKING TO REPLACE CAB WITH A 1967-68 I FOUND I WOULD STILL LIKE TO USE FRONT CLIP FROM THE '70'. CAB I FOUND IS VERY CLEAN AND SOLID MY '70' CAB IS ROTTED OUT THANKS TO WISCONSIN WINTERS . THANK-YOU 60KEN70

I'm guessing here but...
All 67-72 cabs are the same as far as fitting on the frame and pieces bolting to it (fenders, doors, seat, etc). But,... 67-68 have hand pull Emergency brake, 69-72 foot E-brake but, 72 has no rearview mirror mount (mount to windshield). I'm sure there are other small year or couple year only things, but, this is what I'm thinking are the noticable things.
But, I'm just guessing... Other more knowledgable member will correct me or elaborate on this...

First off welcome to the board from a fellow Wi resident. I live 20 mins north of Milwaukee, know what you mean with the rust.

The cab 67-72 is interchangeable, mine has a '72 cab and chassis with a '68 front clip.

The throttle on the old cab is a rod instead of a cable, would be easiest to just stay with the rod since the firewalls are not the same.
The parking brakes are not the same, again, easy to stick with whats in the cab... you'll probably need cables from your donor truck
If you aren't getting a harness, you may have issues with your 72 harness fitting. The fusebox isn't mounted the same.

You'll find a butt load of little annoying things like that.
you'll need the mirror from the old truck, or to weld up the holes on the cieling.. .assuming the 67/68 cab was optioned acordingly

I swapped a '70 cab for a '67 cab. Not too difficult. I was able to reuse the 1970 wiring harness and mount the fuse box like it was mounted in the 1970 cab, but had to drill 2 holes for the mounting screws. The brake switch plug and neutral safety switch plug just barely reached, since the 67-68 fuse box mounting position is just a bit farther from the column. My 1970 had the rod throttle linkage, just like the 67, so no changes there either (did they stop using the rod set-up sometime in the 1970 model year?) Parking brake setup was an easy switch, since the cables needed replacing and only the front cable is different anyway. Good Luck!

nope, 70 is rod all the way, I misread it for a 71.
Throttle issues will not be there.

I got a question about this. I know that it will work but what is was wondering about is the ridge around the windshield where the windsheild gasket ends on the outside. I have seen some that go around the top and some the transition out on the top of the A piller. I figured someone might know something about this maybe the godfather himself. haha

I added some pics to show what I am talking about they are two cabs that have the drip rail shaved but that doesn't matter you can still see what I am taking about. I have seen more like the top where the ridge/line transitions out but was wondering more about the bottom one. Thanks

Am I the only one that wondered about this? Maybe I am crazy but the is a differance there and I just figured it was worth noting on a cab exchange. If it really bugs me I will start a new thread. sorry for jacking your thread I just thought I would put it out there for discussion.
