Gas cap doors

I was wondering if there are others out there with a gas cap door that looks stock? I have a 66 stepside with a rear mounted tank and a gas cap door that looks very stock on the drivers side. It was there when I bought it. Anyway a guy stoped me today to ask me about it, because he said he has four of these old trucks, and has looked at hundreds of them and had never seen one. I told him I would try to do a search and find out where they came from. So thought I would start here. I did a quick search on the net, but only found the bolt on looking type doors. Anyone else have one on here?

Got a pic? It isn't the Suburban/panel gas door, is it?

Re: Gas cap doors

Guys, that door is from a second gerneration S10 Truck. (1994 - 2002). It does look great. It appears that the tank neck piping was also used. Happy Holidays.

Re: Gas cap doors

Looks like it came from a mid to late 90's Mustang.

Re: Gas cap doors

That is the identical door I cut up to fab my side marker light fill.

GM used that door on alot of vevicles. I removed mine from an early 90s pontiac mini van.

http://www.haganstreetrods.com/index.php?cat=Fueldoors You could try one of these also. I was thinking of the oval for my fleetside.

Re: Gas cap doors

I put my filler inside the bed and within the rear fender housing. I didn't have to cut the fender that way.
