I am considering upgraging the interior of my 1983 C10 to a silverado interior. I do not mean the entire interior - my main goal is to add silverado sound deadening insulation to quiet the truck a little. What pieces are required, and who sells them?

silverado sound deadening insulation? the only insulation i had was under my carpet. i took it out though, it was rotted and trashed. is that what you are referring too? or the headliner which i also took out. i wouldnt say it was that insulated..

I didnt know the silverado had sound deading material. My 78 is a scottsdale, my 79 a silervado, and they are both just as loud. My 79 DOES NOT have a headliner, while my 78 does. Go figure

My friend's 85 silverado is a good deal quieter than my c10, and his doors do not sound as hollow as mine when they close. I assumed that his truck had more insulation in the doors, headliner, floor, and firewall. Maybe not.

if it has more its most likely not facotry, my doors are hollow, firewall doesnt have any, floor was the only thing with insulation in it.

I believe that good weatherstripping, carpet, insulation under the carpet, and a good headliner make a truck a lot quieter. Other than that, there's nothing else. Except for some diesel models which had a big rubber covering on the firewall, which I don't think helped much on sound deadening.

Seems like I seen some sound deadning material in the LMC cat. also you may want to consider RAMMAT its some good stuff to use and cheaper than Dynamat.

you can go to a body supply store and buy a self stick insulation that ya can stick on under the door panels and on the floor under the seat but i never found it makes much of a difference
