Re: Sub Boxes

Take some measurements behind your seat, find a shallow mount sub that will fit and require a minimal amount of cubic feet, and then build one out of MDF.

Sorry, I don't have an enclosure or even an audio system for an example yet. I plan on making one eventually that will have similar dimensions to the gas tank that is currently in the cab.

In the meantime you can play around with this sealed enclosure tool to get some ideas. It's pretty fun.

Re: Sub Boxes

well unless you use a fuel cell there is no room behind the seat (gas tank) in the 67-72 trucks. i am removing my tank and being forced to buy 10s due to the lack of "depth".

As for room under the seat i never looked to hard b4 i switched to bucket seats but if my memory serves me right the looked to be alot of room for a very shallow subwoofer.

Re: Sub Boxes

I made enclosures for friends and customers for about 10+ years
when I was competing in USAC and IASCA. I had no kitchen table
because I was single and that's where I made my boxes. My car
model (Best I ever built) was my best achievment. It had about
17 angles, fit in the well on a 87 formula firechicken, & was 3.07
cu/ft. (At that time noone sold one over 2.5 on the market) BTW
for those who have seen these wells, it was flush with the hump
so my rear floor looked perfectly flat. No pic's of the box since it
was before digi age, but here's a pic of the famous firechicken

$12000.00 Invested, O guage Wire, 1001 up Novice, Fosgate Subs,
Fosgate Symmetry Controller, Autotek BTS amps, 3 Windsheilds, &
7 Alternators replaced in a 2 year period. (And yes I had Caps)

Re: Sub Boxes

You could always put 8s in the doors with a proper box, just take some MDF and fiberglass to coat the outside from the weather.
