how to lock the ignition cylinder to assembly

i bought a cylinder assembly for my 66 chevy truck and well when i put it in to the Switch assembly it will turn my truck on but when i turn off the truck and try to pull the key, it comes out with the whole Cylinder assembly and i do not see any way to lock it so that it will stay in once i pull the key out. Re: how to lock the ignition cylinder to assembly

Let me see if I remember how I did this. I think that either on the front face or on the side of the ignition switch there is a pin hole. Use a paper clip or pick to insert once the tumbler is installed in the switch. I think that you have to turn the switch toward the accessory position whle doing this and it will lock the tumbler into the ignition switch. Some one else might chime in here as well.... I did it well ovr a year ago on my 68 C10. I'm sure it's got to be close....
