Re: WTB GM vortec intake bolts

I don't have any, but just got done putting a hybrid TBI intake onto a Vortec motor. FYI, there is nothing special about the bolts, unless you are going for the "stock" look. They are 5/16" diameter. I forget the length, but it seems they are about 1 1/2" long. I pulled the stock bolts out and used longer bolts to attach the engine to the lift when i put the engine in. A hardware store should have them, or GM parts. I could imagine that GM will be high $$$ though.

Re: WTB GM vortec intake bolts

yes.. you are "right on the money"
in more ways than one.... the bolts
are plain... i ordered some from GM...
the counter guy let me see them...didnt buy them.
i got some from my NAPA store..
GM lists for $5.00 and some change for each.. EACH bolt... grrrrr.

thank you for your input.

Re: WTB GM vortec intake bolts

They come with sealant applied to the threads dont they? Also dont for get the 11 lb/ft torque spec.

New GM gaskets(ones with the metal anti crush tabs) or the FelPro problem solver gaskets are the way to go.

Goodluck

Re: WTB GM vortec intake bolts

Just order the ARP ones. Better quality and cheaper then GM. Check at your local speed shop for p/n 134-2002 for the factory look ones. 12 point and stainless are also available

And yes, use the Fel Pro Problem Solver p/n MS-98000T gaskets. They will save you a real issue down the road.
