not sure yet,im nowthinking of doing the truck full satin with a pin stripe, so body work on bed, got new emblems for the fenders, going to get the seat reupholstered and clean the interior up a bit more, i want it to be like new, then wheels and tires for the back, and, a 383 with solid cam have done quite a bit to this truck, and not done yet!

Truck looks great man youre making awesome progress. Did you have to modify the Suburban seats to get them to fit?

thanx guys! the suburban seats goe in pretty easy, three holes line up, on the front inside you have to get the bracket out of the donor burb for them to be firmly bolted down, and the paint on the front is just a satin black, looks so good im thinkin of just doing the whole truck this way! heres some progress pics, and did some stuff to the 81, put my trucks old grille and what not on it

Re: 1987 Chevy Silverado project

Yeah that satin does look good. I would shoot it and the step side. Maybe it will help sell the stepside faster! That way you can have more funds for the SWB.

Re: 1987 Chevy Silverado project

For a quick sale I would pass on shaving the doors. You will limit your customer base, which will possibly extend the time to sell.

Re: 1987 Chevy Silverado project

your fleetside is SICK man... i love how that thing looks... i'd sell EVERYTHING else but that truck. you will regret selling it as soon as you see it pulling out of your driveway. and keep the door handles on... just my .02!! good luck w/ what ever you decide.

Re: 1987 Chevy Silverado project

well, had the truck on craigslist for a day before a LOT of ppl convinced me it wasnt worth getting rid of considering all the work i put into it, i love this truck, and i really need the money, but my family said we can hold off and hopefully get rid of the others even th GF begged me to keep it, considering she didnt like it very much since day one, but, did get an interesting trade offer

has a fresh 454 and turbo 400, bagged front and back(not done yet) and the interior is also not complete, great looking truck, but considering all the work i put into mine already, it didnt seem fit, granted, it rush me in school and i'd get it painted faster, but, it wouldnt be MINE

Re: 1987 Chevy Silverado project

Yeah I don't think you would be gaining much. Some of the body work is done, but yours has other things done to it. Not really worth the hassle for a trade. Plus like you said it's not your work in it! Glad to hear you are keeping the swb. Hope things work out.

yea, he kees calling, but doesnt know what no means, lol, after 4 missed calls i got frustrated and answered the next one, he asked whats up? i told him i was putting new carpet in the truck, and he was like, oh, so im geussin you really dont wanna trade?

asmentioned before tho, i replace my carpet, i tried cleaning it, but was way gone, afteran hour of scrubbing and power washing, still looked like crap, i figured it wasnt worth it to put it in, so i got a 10 dollar roll of carpet and some glue from oreilly, and got to work, was my first time, but turned out ok (carpet is temporary til school funds come in for the real thing)
