Re: The 49' is home !
I think the "old" style pump would work just fine, I have heard the wipers are just o.k. with the vacuum pump. I got a standard style pump, no filter, no vac. for less than half.
So since I want "better" wiper performance and I am "on the cheap". I went with the standard. Oh and in that pump picture one of the lines is the vac. adv. line . It'll go back on of course.

Re: The 49' is home !
Heard it run for the first time tonight. Bought a battery from Sillyoldman
and took a few tries but the old dog ran for close to 1 second. By then it was dark and I was happy to hear it fire. Hope to have it running w/o priming the carb this weekend. Have to figure out some temporary fuel tank till I replace or recondition the old one. Thanks for the replys so far, ideas always welcome ! A couple non related pics with the bed and carpet pulled out.
