hey fellas, just wanted to introduce myself and let you guys know how much i have enjoyed the board so far. i recently purchased a 69 3/4 ton, 4X4 with manual four speed. body is fairly straight with exception to the cab. needs new floor pans and rockers. pretty mechanically sound so far. this is my first restore so i'm sure i'll have some questions for you experts out there.

Blue Beard always beats me, but here's another "Hello" from soggy Washington. Lower cab rot is common and can get very expensive. Watch the parts board for a cab from a dry part of the country - just my opinion. I spent way too much money and way too much time chasing rust. I think I bought every replacement panel known to man for my cab - and I don't weld!! The added expense of having all of them welded in makes me wish I had been given the same advice. Thanks for the responses!!!
Scott, appreciate the advise about the cab. I guess that brings me to my first question about the cabs. Are the cabs pretty much interchangeable between 67-72 and also between the C/K series. I did enroll in a welding/metal fabrication class 2 days after purchasing the truck anticipating the weld costs. May need to get my hands on a welder now. Trying to break the women in early.

I only have one of these trucks, but as far as I know, the cabs, doors and fenders are all the same. The 67 & 68 hoods are different. Of course the grills and bumpers are different - but still interchangable. These are fun trucks, easy to find parts, you can spend as much or as little as you want on them and still enjoy them. If your lower cab is rusted, you have a lot of rust you can't see. Take the cowl off and look at the seam coming down from the windshield. This is a common leak point. The water that comes in there is what winds up rusting out your inner and outer rocker panels. Open your door and (using an inspection mirror) look at your lower door posts. The area where everything comes together (cab, door, fender, inner fender and frame) is pretty important when you try to get everything to line up. If you see bad rust or missing metal, you've got a big job ahead of you. Good luck. It will be worth the time and effort. Scott
