My neused 00 GMC

Just picked this little sweetie up. Not sure if I like the color though, j/k. 163k miles, v6 runs good. Needs lots of help though. It was the victim of a teen owner. Daddy bought it for him to absolutely trash. I don't think the interior has ever seen a vacuum or cleaners. It has a dent in the passenger door, other wise, very straight, no rust. I'll pull the door panel and push the dent out, and all the body work will be done at that point. It's my work/trash hauler truck, but, I know I'll have to do some sort of a custom touch to it. There are sooo many cool bolt on parts for these trucks. I'll try to resist any upgrades other than a topper.

Re: My neused 00 GMC

Thanks guys. I think that once all the neglected issues are taken care of, it should be a nice and cheap heap to keep.

I can't help myself from picturing it with a nice drop, but I don't want to lose the hauling function.

Re: My neused 00 GMC

Hey Charlie,... long time, no talk to.

That would look really GOOD with 4/6 drop. (hint, hint)

I wish I had a fullsize V6 gas-miser truck instead of my '91 S10.
But then again,... I want alot of things.

NICE ride.
Keep those pics coming,...

Re: My neused 00 GMC

Hey Keith. Yea it's been a while...As far as wanting, I looked for way to long for a decent 67-72 any bed and 73-87 shorties, but most nice ones were just more than I wanted to spend not to mention I would not likely have used it for what I need a truck for. I have had a secret love for a 99+ Sierra for a long time. I likey.

Re: My neused 00 GMC

I hear ya on not wanting to drop it becuase of the reduced load capacity, but they look so much better lower to the ground. I recently hauled a yard and a half of topsoil in my 4x6 dropped 2000 GMC. Luckily it was only for a few blocks! In the picture below, the front is actually dropped 5". I have since raised it back up to 4".

Re: My neused 00 GMC

Never really realized how hard these single cab short bed trucks are to find. My uncle has been looking for one for his grand daughter, and we have been looking all over the area. They're just not out there. We found tons of extended cabs, but the single cabs are hard to find in decent shape.

Re: My neused 00 GMC

It's been a while since my last visit to the forum. Update: I pushed the dent out...I reinstalled the stereo, replaced some speakers also... got a cab height topper for $250...replaced both wheel hubs(pita)...Fixed the hanging exhaust pipe. Now I need a spare rim and tire, and to locate all the tire hoist stuff. I need to remove the windshield to address a leak. After I do all that, I think I'll be done for now, except for cleaning. Well it looks like my $2800 truck is now a $3600 truck. Still though, that's very cheap for these trucks.

This truck is sooo dirty. I am finding french fries and fried chicken in the door panels. I have found countless beer bottle tops, and in the strangest places, like under trim pieces. Weird. The PO was a beer drinkin fool. Hard to believe the truck made it past the drunken driver owner. It actually runs like a top. But man, a lot of neglect.

Hey slammed, yea you got the look. Bad ass!!

JohnC, yes very hard to find these trucks in reg cab shorty.
And with a v8 lol...That's why mine is a 6 banger, I'm impatient, couldn't wait any longer for a v8.

Hey Jonathan, I have a truck now, I can haul that old motor you have to my place.

I have been thinkingabout a 4/6 with rear overload bags. I will likely drop it at some point. The look is just to sweet to ignore.

Re: My neused 00 GMC

Thanks Hoods69, it is a o.k. truck for the money spent. It's a 20 footer for sure. It was certainly a work truck.
It rides like a caddy.
