got a problem with my s10

on my 1996 s10 4.3 vortech lwb the rag joint is shot. i cant use the after market rag joint because stock one is pressed on a shaft. the all data program we have say it is called the lower intermediate shaft and prices it 178.00, the rag joint is pressed on the shaft and shows replacing the shaft. i cant find the part no where the only place i can find it is at a dealer for 414.78 but the want to sell me the whole shaft instead of just the lower any ideas the rubber is to thick on the after market and mine has pretty good size rivits it looks like has no bolt heads and the rest of the mounts do not match up what so ever and dont come with four bolts. basically i would have to drill tap and rig it up ive tried jc whitney they dont carry it only for a full size, jegs dont, summit dont, lmc dont, southern kentucky classics wouldnt show it. i dont know if a salvage yard would has any one replaced one before all comments will be very appreciated.
thanks,

Re: got a problem with my s10

worm shaft bearing is internal to the steering box. what he is looking for is where the column intermediate shaft attaches to the box.

Re: got a problem with my s10

Did you fix it yet? Dorman has it in their HELP section. It's just the rag joint rubber for about 9$. You'll have to grind off the factory rivets on yours, but the replacement comes with new hardware. Tell the knotheads at your local parts store to look in the book and order you one.
