What clutch kit do I need, also need pic of linkage. sm465

I am BRAND new when it comes to these transmissions so bare with me. On my 79 c30 I noticed chatter and chirping when clutch is all the way out. I adjusted it and most of it is gone but not all. I feel something is wrong in the clutch department. I found a bad u-joint and looks like maybe someone put the wrong size u-joint in as its loose in the clamps but I fear its already ate out the yoke on the rear of the transmission. ALSO once the clutch is to the floor, I feel like it sticks to the floor for a second before it releases. I looked at the linkage under the truck and there are two heave springs on there. IS this normal? I realize that once past a certain point the springs help push so is there only supposed to be one spring? Better yet can someone take a pic of the linkage under the truck for me? that would help alot. OK, now for the needing help part. If I need a new yoke on the rear of the transmission.... where can I get a new one? I havent been able to find one. Or can someone give me a good GM number for one? SECOND, as far as the clutch goes. There are several different ac delco ones listed on rockauto. Some for diaphragm and some for lever. I can tell that when I get it out but some are ceramic, some are kevlar" expensive" some are the same and some dont say but they all have different part numbers.... WHAT ONE DO I NEED??? there are too many choices and as heavy as this trans is I want to do this only once.

Don't know if I can help, but regarding the clutch spring their should only be one spring, AFIK, either under the truck or under the dash. My 83 has one under the truck. We had a discussion about this a while back under clutch adjustment, and I think Keith gave the definitive answer on only one spring.
My clutch tends to go out of adjustment, so when the transmission gets hard to shift I get under the truck and make sure I have about 1" of adjustment bolt showing - then it shifts fine. The Classic Parts catalog has a good sketch of this setup on page 111.
A truly chattering clutch is supposed to be the sign of needing a new clutch, but slow engagement may just be an adjustment. I noticed that it seemed to take a lot of adjustment (about the 1" exposed thread on the bolt) before mine worked properly, so I would try to crank that adjustment bolt some more.
I am ignorant regarding any further clutch info.

Never thought to look in parts books. the diagram in classic parts mag. shows two springs under truck, one on the fork and one on the linkage. NOT how mine is set up. I have to on clutch pedal linkage and none on fork

Generally speaking, diaphram clutches give a softer pedal feel and aren't intended for extra heavy usage. Lever types offer stronger capacity at the expense of a harder pedal effort.

Some basic reading...

are they interchangeable? If so then that would be good info.

Yes, they interchange as a set. The different types of pressure plates use different height throw out bearings. Have your flywheel machined, replace the clutch disc, pressure plate and throw out bearing as a group with your choice of type.

Personally, in my heavy trucks, I live with the heavy clutch effort to get the heavier clutch performance.
