Re: Tree fell on my truck

Here is a couple shots of the new (cash for clunkers) cab.

I need to get that off the windshield. Its actuall cracked too so I need new one.

This door looks fine but its not really cause this is the one where tree fell on mirror and pulled out the metal at top of door so there is a big gap at window opening. I am gonna try locate another door.

Also the cab bushings are not in atm is why it sits slightly low.

You can also see dent from tree on top of bed rail.

I may get hood too and more maybe cant hurt stock up on fenders and stuff can it?
Its a power door and I am gonna make it manual.

Re: Tree fell on my truck

I am going kinda slow since weather got colder. Today was a nice day and went and picked up some PPG shop primer (was a lot cheaper than the K36).

My plan is to prime the door completly and shoot it with bc/cc before I assemble it with the NOS weatherstrips and nos vent windows.

Before I finish the inside cab wiring and stuff I want to be able to close doors with windows and hardware in place and I can lock it up also.

I completly diassembled the drivers door I got from a 91 Suburban (found on Craigs List) and it is in excellent condition although I did find 1 minor ding. Its hard to see but I can feel it with palm of my hand.

I cleaned door with Dawn dishwashing detergent inside/out and used a red Scotchbright with soap and a razor blade to get off some molding glue and vent shade glue.

Tomorrow gonna hit it with the DA sander fix any dings and maybe prime it hopefully.

I would also like to put some Dynamat or other inside door too.

Re: Tree fell on my truck

Double check the bottom weep holes and seam sealer. I've had the seam sealer get brittle and flake of within months of a new paint job.

The Dynamat is a great idea these style doors can sound tinny at times.

Looking Great!!!
