Re: change of heart

seen plenty of guys hooking on 17 and 18 inch drag radials. the 15's will still hook better as they have more sidewall to absorb some shock. i run 15" M/T drag radials on my station wagon but it has enuff weight to hook on space savers.

Re: change of heart

Yeah I know the bigger drag radials work just never seen anyone do it with a truck yet. And since I want it to do a little double duty now I just want to run one set of wheels and tires.

I haven't taken it to the track yet, but like I said earlier I think with some suspension tuning it should hook. I am also going up to a 345/35/18 MT. I also have a 5spd, an auto shouldn't have as much of a traction problem. The trailing arm setup is definitely better then the leaves w/Caltracs that I ran before.

Re: change of heart

Mine is nowhere near finished, but I'm running 335/30/18's BFG KDW G-force on back, but plan to try some 345/18 MT drag radials at the strip if the 335's won't hook. I'm running a 468 aluminum headed BBC and Tremec TKO. Here are some pics of the 335's on an 18x12.

I see you got your Boss 338 wheels widened. Di you have them refinished? Do you have anymore pictures of the widened wheels? I plan to get mine widened in a month or so for my MT 345/18s.

Re: change of heart

I had them widened toward the inside of the wheel, so I didn't need (or want) to get them refinished. You can see in the pic above between the spokes where they welded in the extra aluminum.
