Cams, OE grinds available?

I am in the midst of sprucing up Mighty Joe for my daughter to drive. I need (amoung other things) a new cam.
The truck is very close to stone stock so I would prefer to install a cam that is ground to oe specs.
Joe is a 68 C20 327 4bbl th400, rear gears not known, but very low (411/456).
Thanks guys!

How's the reputation of Clevite (sp?) camshafts? I found through Kragens a cam, lifter, and timing components kit for roughly $200. I've used clevite bearings and they seem to have worked fine.

I am also considering going a little further in this project and pulling the engine entirely so I can replace the rear seal and pan gaskets too. Then I reckon I better do a torque converter seal and trans pan/fluid change. Geeze, how it snow balls.

Anyone got tips to offer on the rear seal? I've never replaced one these old two piece arrangements before.

you can get them quite a bit cheaper than that.
3 years ago i went to O'Riellys and they had a stock cam for 40 bucks and lifters for another 30....this is a 3 year old memory on numbers (which I totally suck at) but I remember saying it was cheaper than a $99 performance grind...so those numbers must be clost to right.

With a rear gear like that I would look at a cam to help out with gas milage. Unless you buy a nos GM cam you are not going have a stock cam anyway, you will have whatever fit-all they have sitting on the shelf.

You might lok at the Crane Energizer series. The 266 should work well with your app, & will have a "stock type" smooth idle. The cam & lifter kits should be available through Summit racing, Jegs, or northern auto parts for just a tad over $100. I have run the energizer cam kits in several trucks/cars & have been very pleased with the end results. Good luck, crazyL

The las time I bought one of these (300hp 327ci) it was about $80 for cam and lifters. It's a good low cost camshaft.Crane Cams oem performance cams
