Re: Lift kit help

It's probably a 4" lift with a 3" body lift. (unless the picture is different from now) Not sure really cause I am not a fan of the IFS suspensions. But it's probably some where around that. Yes you can remove the old lift and put it on your truck, but it's going to be a chore. What you can try to do is find the manufacturer and then download the installation instructions. You will need those. You might have to modify your rig some what. I know some of those lifts require mods to get the proper fit.

If you go threw with this, make sure you do a lot of research first, and make sure you cut out the lift cleanly.

And just an FYI unless it's a really old lift, procomp only has a 4" and a 6" lift listed on there website.

Re: Lift kit help

only major task other than swapping over should be cuttin the tab off the front diff and putting on the new one from the kit as far as i know (not a ifs lift expert by no means)

Re: Lift kit help

I don't really see what he would have had to weld? Most all kits for IFS are simply drop brackets to lower the entire front assembly. Maybe he welded those goofy compression arm things?

The only issue I would see is most all of the IFS lift kits require the cutting of at least one of the factory tabs.

I wonder if he is referring to linkage extensions for the 3" body lift? Take a peak around the steering box under the hood, and the transfer case shift linkage under the truck.

Re: Lift kit help

That's a 4-6" procomp lift. It's their older design and they marketed it as 4-6". The height depended on what rear block was used and how the torsion was set. It's not suppose to be welded on, but I have seen a few people that welded it anyways, maybe yours isn't welded though.

Re: Lift kit help

It is hard to say with out seeing what is welded.

By the time you do all of the work to make that happen though you could have easily done a straight axle conversion and have a better truck on your hands, just something to think about. Id get what you need off the parts truck and sell it to fund the straight axle.

Just don't do this to it! IFS lifts are pretty much useless.
I think you can tell what's going on there...

Re: Lift kit help

I picked up the same yr color and lifted 6 inch truck, took the motor, parted the rest out and made 1200. Its worth it. The lift is a pain to remove.
