made my longbed a shortie

some specs of the truck: early classic 4 1/2", 6" drop with 1" blocks, front wheels are 15x7 5 lug with 235/60/15, rears are 15x8 6 lug with 275/60/15 bfg's.

thought id share some pics of how i did it. i used by buddies lift and frame table, supported the truck with 8 jackstands and the lift, marked and cut the frame with a sawzall, used angle iron for a rip fence, and hammered in some early classic frame brackets. cut the drive shaft myself, and used some exhaust clamps from summit to shorten the exhaust. robbed the bed off my other project truck. fits pretty good but the bed needs shifted over some. old longbed fit the exact same way so nothing i did.

Re: made my longbed a shortie

That turned out nice. It looks like it might have a tighter gap between the cab and bed, great job. If I did this I'm afraid I would leave the back half of my truck at an intersection.
