So one day im sitting in Iraq and i realize i need a truck to drive when i get home for leave. I find a 77 longbed cheyenne on ebay. figured it would be a good little putt putt for when i was home for 10 days. the guy asked 1200 for it online but when i called and asked what he would take he said "ahh i guess 800." I told him he could consider it sold

Drove her around for a little, wasnt planning on doing anything to her but you know how it goes. decided i could just give her a little drop. a kid down the street had a DJM flip and some drop spindles so i grabbed all that for 100bucks (new). got online and found a guy that had some rims and tires that fit my lug pattern and i liked the look, said he would let me get them for 350 for rims and tires.

had to take those rims and tires off due to the fact they rubbed front every time i turned and rear any time i had alittle body roll went back to the stock rims. was asked by a photographer friend if she could use my truck for a shoot. i said sure but she wanted it all one color so i figured its just a beater why not and loaded on the rattle can

decided it is a 77 so maybe i should just freshin up the engine alittle but then decided that since she was my only mode of transport i would rebuild another one and just swap them out. but as the build of the engine started the price tags started to get alittle more expensive then i should have allowed

on my last trip home we got the engine and new tran dropped in, the alum radiator and elec fans in and the new hood. i got the new rad core support and the fenders in storage just didnt have time to put them on this trip. went and got the exhaust put on ran a custom X pipe set up with elect cutoff dumps just past the X. and let the rest head back to the 70 series duel mufflers

That scoop isn't doing much good stuck underneath a hood. You'd probably be better off with a nice big filter and maybe a length of tubing for a cold air supply. Better filtering, cooler air for more power, less restriction.

Your right. the hood was only put on due to having to put it in storage while im back over here in afghan land. i was driving it around on leave with no hood (that was fun). I went with that set up cause i have just always wanted one. Ever since i was a kid i just pictured hot rods having carb intake scoops.

im still trying to get the video up of the dif between the cutoffs opened and closed but cant seem to get a video to load
