bb motor mount HELP

does, anyone have a pic or part# on the pad part of a big block motor mount for a 68 truck? I bought the stands from teeit up , They bolt to the frame and crossmember with just one 1 1/4" hole in the top center of them. I can't find any mount pads to fit this setup, summit sent me a pair ( that don't fit) with a horizontal bolt that goes threw it and the mount, it looks like. can any one help with this ? Thanks Tony

I think LMC sells them, also check with vendors on the board. I understand the 67-71 mounts are more expensive than the 72 mounts. I think they are about $30 each in LMC.

Sounds like Summit sent you a pair of mounts for a 72. I think the 73 and up trucks also use that kind of mount.

From what I've gathered, the actual motor mounts for 68-71's are quite a bit more expensive than the motor mounts for 72s. But, the engine stands (that bolt to the frame) for 68-71s are relatively cheap compared to the stands for 72s.

So, it boils down to where you want to spend your money...engine stands (which aren't gonna break) or motor mounts (which can break).

I'd rather spend a couple bucks now on 72 style stands/mounts and be assured that if I break a motor mount on down the road I will be able to find a replacement at the local auto parts store rather than having to order one from LMC or another such company.

...just my 2 cents...OK, 3 cents

I agree with MrShelly, I spent the extra for the 72 mounts. They mount the engine lower in the frame and give more clearance for headers. I've seen them go as cheap as $30 on ebay. Have to be there at the right time though. I know some board members have them here too. Ask around.
