Suburban tailgate
I have a 72 burb with the barn doors. Has anyone ever done a conversion to a tailgate on one. It is kind of a ratty old truck that I plan to make into a roadster. I'd like to make use of the area behind the rear axle to make kind of trunk space. Will a tailgate off a pickup fit? Thanks for any help or ideas.

Re: Suburban tailgate
Yes, you can convert one way or the other. No, you can not use a truck tailgate w/o alot of modifications. Here is one link to a discussion on the subject. Do a search for others and you might find one with pictures.

Re: Suburban tailgate
Thanks for the info. I need to find a decent tailgate now. Is used the only choice or does someone make a repop. Ive been looking in the popular parts catologs with no luck.

Re: Suburban tailgate
I looked at my burban and it has the plugs and provisions for the tailgate hardware. That just made things a little easier. COOL
