You may like this one

We just pulled in another truck from our stack lot to take apart. It is a 72 1/2 ton lwb, 402bb, auto, air cheyenne super ochre and white. Jason and I love those 72 bb trucks.

Sounds like a nice truck! Does it have the chrome gas cap to help you confirm that?

Jonathan, I am starting to believe the 72 chrome gas cap is like the tooth fairy and santa claus.... they are all figments of my imagination. The parts book shows chrome but I think they are all stainless.
Steve, this is a parts truck and we finished "field dressing" it today and it is headed to the happy hunting ground.
Good to hear from both of you Paul

Funny thing about that ochre color. I have had a 67-72 chevy twelve times in my life and never had an ochre one until now. I hated that color until I got my 72 Cheyenne (not a super but still cool) and now I love it and would not have anything but ochre.

I hear that all the time about the ochre color, people either love it or hate it ..... I can still remember a summer day in 1984 following a lowered ochre short fleet 71 or 72' on 6th street in Corona Ca. for a couple of miles, thinking that was the most beautiful truck/color I ever seen in my life! And what was funny is my dad had bought a new SWB 71' huggar orange Cheyenne and it did do nothing for me at the time, but I was only 10.

Re: You may like this one

A lot of the colors from back then most people didn't care for through the years until recently. I'd get a truck ready to paint and people would ask what color I was using. I'd always say,"The original color",and I'd usually get one of these,"O---kay..."s and a "hmmmm..." and that's about it. But usually once it was painted they'd like it. I think most judge the colors by their 40 year old appearance and when it's fresh it's,"Hey,sharp truck!",especially the metallics and especially Medium Olive Poly. Most would call Ochre baby poop yellow. Some of the new acceptance is people realizing these are the colors of the muscle era. There was a time when Mustangs and Camaros had to be Red or Black, too. Now it's all about the less common combinations.
