The 8V-71 has been widely used by the government, but it was a pretty popular engine in Road Tractors and Trucks. Not only in GMC's, but many other makes as well, even Ford. What size Detroit would you like to put into the 5500? Bill

Re: GM Semis
Added this ole girl to the project list. 1977 9500/6-71/RTO-9513 NASA Lewis Research truck with only 75K miles on her. Paid cash and drove her home, couple of hours, and she ran like a top. Probably going to change the gearing so she motors down the hwy at a decent speed. Can't wait to start this restoration.
