Too many items to list in this picture.

My solution for hiding the air system parts. Everything got relocated under the tank.

Re: I hate some previous owner because.....

The PO of my current truck cut the steel floor out of the bed to do work on the suspention. He never did anything. He gave me the sheet of steel to put back in.

I took advantage of the floor missing to do the suspention work then put the floor back in.

Here its almost done.

Frankenstein seat "mounts"- driver's side was 4 pieces of pipe with a bolt through the floor. The .040" aluminum sheet pop-riveted over the rust floors was a nice touch too.

because the PO used an angle grinder to strip the paint...............along with metal. It has more divots than a golf ball.

They PO rhino lined over the wood boards, trapping all the moisture, and rotting all the boards and ruining an otherwise perfect bed!!

Re: I hate some previous owner because.....

hate when the previous owner filled the cab corners with concrete to fix the rotted corners. what a b&$#h that was to chizzel out. fifty million holes in the doors for mirrors. 2x4's for the front cab mounts. pop rivet sheet metal all over the floor. bare wires everware in the truck. radio holes cut for aftermarket radio. holes in the dash for 25 switches that were all broke and disconnected. soda cans hose clamped over the holes in the exhaust pipes. white caulking to seal the rear window from leaking. oh and the steering wheel was nawed on by a dog along with the arm rests.

I have been considering each of those "upgrades" for my truck, was also thinking that I would reupholster my bench seat with duct tape, alternating black, and gray duct tape for a nice racy look

Re: I hate some previous owner because.....

I hate a previous owner because the previous owner (edward scissor hands) attempted to make the wiring in the truck better. just to get a wire 3 feet, there is about 5 different pieces of wire spliced together.

AND, the fact that they neglected the truck and let it rust so damn bad. poor thing

Same here! The wiring is a MESS, its going to be a huge headache...

I was going to post this sooner BUT, life, work, family, all that good stuff got in the way.

I hate my previous owner because...

He claimed he drove it every day, but there were only three LOOSE bolts holding the transmission... Noticed when I got it home.

For screwing these into the bed on both sides, THANKS! (NOT!)

For screwing into the cab in crazy places with strange screws. Thanks again!

For painting the dash black, with an old pair of underwear taped to a stick. The pic doesnt really show it, but its done extremely poorly. Funny, someone did the SAME thing to my 78!

Rivets and bondo.... rivets and bondo... RIVETS AND BONDO!!!!

For changing to the a manual. That's cool, but it was done very poorly as you can see.

For screwing up the engine perches, and having to BOLT the engine down with a CHAIN. WTF!?!?!?!?!

In addition to the engine perches, they CUT with a TORCH the transmissionn crossmember, installed a strange one with LOOSE bolts holding the transmission down. WTF! Oh, and the manual steering gear box bolts were FINGER LOOSE, no wonder the steering was wobbly!

Heres those engine perches I was talking about!

There were so many safety issues with this truck, thank god I didnt try to drive it home! I towed it on a U-Haul dolly!

i've read all 4 pages and honestly i'm not surprised at what i've read because we've all seen it.some of it could have been from the original owner that kept the truck for 50 years or someone that saved it from the crusher and did what he could do although not correct by any means but for some reason that truck survived so that it could end up in your garage.and we may ***** about it but it is your truck, your pride and joy. so something must have been done right.

I could go on and on about the limited ability of the previous owners of my truck. I believe they thought they were doing something positive or in the best interest of the truck.

Having said that F-n lame ass's !

Thats a torque strap. It supposed to keep the motor from moving as much and transferring the power to the rear wheels faster.

Ditto on this. Mine did the same and had fun with a plasma cutter to run 3 inch exhaust.

I have the same hole. Maybe we had the same PO with different trucks.

Re: I hate some previous owner because.....

I agree with PAPA KENT. Most of the jerry riggin (no offense to Jerry) is a budget issue or quick fix because PO's wanted to drive it and not spend years rebuilding it, if budget allowed I'd have a 100% restore and a patina daily driver. I'm sure most of us got a chance to check out our trucks before purchasing them. But like most of you, I too like to fix a PO's mess and be proud of doing it the right way and bragging to my buddies about the mess I fixed. So, to all the jerry riggin PO's out there, THANKS!!.....for making me look awesome!!
