HD bumper on a standard half ton?

I need to replace my front bumper on my 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 & was thinking about getting the 2500/3500 diesel bumper.

Is there any really that the bumper will not fit my 1/2 ton? Is it that it sits lower & will leave a gap between it & the upper panel? If so....Would the taller upper panel solve that problem?

Re: HD bumper on a standard half ton?

Bummer! I can get the HD bumper for $88 but the standard bumper is $216!. It'd be cheaper just to cut the openings out of the standard bumper to replicate the looks. Sure it wouldn't have the rolled in finished edge, but I'm not that picky either & could still make it look good with edge trim pieces if I wanted to. I was gonna use the openings to mount LED driving light bars.

You have to get the grill as well.
