After market wheels for 68 stepside

Anyone have any good ideas about nice wheels for a 1968 stepside? Would like something driveable. Planning on lowering the front 2.5 and the rear 4". Right now the truck has 6 lug wheels all the way around.

Thanks-Mika

Are you planning on switching to 5-lug?
I find, that there are more options in 5-lug.
What diameter are you looking for?
15's?
18's?
20's?

I would go Classic Cragars with BF Goodrich radial T/As. Classic Old School!! Love em!! These are TTIIs.

I love the old cragars too. Probably will do them when I figure out the brakes and changing the 6 lugs out.

Me too, . I've got 5 lug front disc brake with stock 6 lug drums in back. $300 to convert to the 5 lug axle and then buy the wheels and tires!! Adds up quick!

We where still undecided on the final wheel size and type when we swapped over to 5 lug as well..so we just bought some cheap 5-lug AERO rims "$50.00" each for the time being so we could enjoy driving the truck...
That was 2 years ago, and now these wheels have grown on us and just may stick around until we get the truck painted.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but they where priced right, fit perfect & they got us down the road...

Alot of detailed photos in our Google albums if your interested...

Re: After market wheels for 68 stepside

The style wheel that will look best on any truck depends alot on the way the truck is built and the color/paint job. Does the truck have alot of chrome or polished aluminum, or is it all painted. Original color, or late model metalic, or primer black. Its best to match a style or theme.
