rebuilding calipers

Has anyone rebuilt, well disassembled and replaced the o-ring and dust boot on stock calipers? I recently picked up a rear disc setup from an old Caddy. Everything is a little rusty but in good shape. I figured I would try to tackle rebuilding the calipers to save some cash. Also, I may look into replacing these with the Wilwood D52 calipers in the future, so I don't want to spend much on rebuilt calipers.

I remembered an episode of MuscleCar on Powerblock where they showed how to rebuild them, so I looked it up. This all seems simple enough, but of course, it all does with some TV magic. The caliper rebuild starts at around the 11:00 min mark.

Re: rebuilding calipers

I've done a lot of them. Get everything clean, lube the seals with brake fluid when assembling.
