Quadrajet FLOAT Comparison!

My 750 cfm Quadrajet float is slightly bigger than my 800 cfm Quadrajet float, I'm wondering if I can use the 750 float in the 800 cfm Quadrajet? Reason I'm asking is because the 750 float is in much better condition.

Does the other not...float? If it floats it doesn't matter how it looks. As long as it functions and is setup correctly.

Re: Quadrajet FLOAT Comparison!

That's the thing INSIDIOUS '86, I don't know. The 800 float is two toned in color, it's stained where the gas level was so I'm assuming that means the float has been in gas a long time where the 750 float is nice and solid black. I've never had the 800 on a vehicle yet I'm rebuilding it because I'm bored!

Re: Quadrajet FLOAT Comparison!

Are they two different materials? If so they won't float at the same level and will load the needles differently. That will make it difficult to set the proper fuel level.

Of you want to clean it up use a cotton rag and some brasso. It will shine right up.

Re: Quadrajet FLOAT Comparison!

I bigger float will take up more room in the bowl leaving less room for gas. Otherwise I don't think there is a lot of difference in them.
