With so many heaps available the purists may cane you for using such a nice truck but from one metal fabricator to another it sounds like a cool project. I wish you luck. One question though. Why the ls1? The 5.3 would have made the same power with a cam and a little head work. Cool truck..

Well I already had the 5.7 and planned on using it before we decided to use to 2001 frame, and the 5.3 has high mileage. As far as for the original 67', it will not be hacked up in the process. Actually it may turn into a father/son project for BR. The fenders needed to be replaced anyways and the cab was untouched. A lot of patch panels will be used in the building of this truck. Because the 2001 cab is a little wider, the hood will be sectioned, stretched and possible pan-caked. Same for the grill, tailgate, etc..

The lightweight block may offset some of the added weight of the extra sheetmetal! Lol

Re: Wild C10 project

I'm usually a purist as I believe our trucks were just perfect as designed but, this sounds neat. Kind of a late model paying tribute to its early model brother. Best of luck and can't wait to see it finished.
