Wiper motor 12v conversion

There are a lot of 12v wiper motor conversions available for the 48 chevy truck ranging from $149 to $249. Some say that they will not fit with the stock radio, which I do not have. Some say they clear the defrost vents, does that mean some do not? Some say they will clear the stock choke cable, have some people had problems with that? I thought I also read that some are not as strong as others... Any recommended buys would be appreciated as well as any suggestions on which units to avoid.

Re: Wiper motor 12v conversion

Good question. I'd be curious to know that too. Also to know what kind others have had success with?

Re: Wiper motor 12v conversion

I've been using the one frome Classic Parts. The USA made one fits great. No issue with any I've installed yet.

Re: Wiper motor 12v conversion

I have been so wrapped up in restoring my frame, building and installing my new engine, pulling my restored cab off the old frame and getting ready to drop the cab on the new frame, I have not tackled the wiper motor issue as of yet, but should in a few weeks once I get the "new" 48 on the road. From everything I have read, I have not seen any negatives to the products available. The only one may be, I think from Classic where there is an option for one that will clear the choke cable and one that will not. If you are still using the old choke, pick that one.
