Heater box

Well found my water leak after buying this truck. The heater box seals where gone and RTV was kinda there but also had some rust rot on the inner box. Found a member on here selling one and bought it. Once I removed mine saw how bad it was but luckily the firewall is not bad . Now to buy new seals and reinstall. Plus the new one is plastic not metal.

Re: Heater box

Youu really need to treat that firewall rusrt before the reinstall or it will continue to grow and you will have a problem. something like Por15 should do the trick.

Re: Heater box

I'm doing this soon, was it hard pulling it out. Do you have factory air on the outside fire wall. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Re: Heater box

My truck is a non A/C system so taking it out was really easy for me but the average person shouldn't have too much trouble. Just waiting on my gasket kit to come in so I can get it back together.
