Just picked up this beauty
Hello, New member Bud here. I have a '55 Belair 2 door post Im restoring, and I've always wanted a '55 Chevy p/u sitting next to it in the garage. I've been quietly reading up on IFS, frame swaps, LWB to SWB mods, in anticipation of getting a 1955 Chevy long bed. I traded a running 1993 Ford Bronco for one yesterday. I trailered the Bronco from NE Pa to Pittsburg, and trailered the '55 Chevy truck back.

Im curious as to how much modification the '90 to '96 Chevy caprice frame needs at the step location. Any pics and comments are appreciated. I am a Welder/Fitter/Mechanic/Technician by trade, so im up to it. But.... I don't want to do anything that will take integrity out of the frame. I will post pics soon. Moderators please relocate this post if not in the correct section.

Take a look around this site you will find many projects and many good ideas, some will cost more than others, but you will find something that you can relate too.

Oh good because that's not a '55. At least the hood isn't. It's a '56, but you knew that, right?

Dan, that actually looks like a conglomeration- '56 hood ornament, '57 hood, backup lights for turn signals, etc!!!

Yes, that was another truck I was interested in. When I searched my pics, I didn't realize it was the wrong truck. Still having problems posting pics from my laptop and phone. I'll get it figured out, and post more pics.

Yep thats a '57 hood for sure... the 'darts' are a dead giveaway and the only year they came with them.

If ya need any year hood, Ive got all 3 types! lol good luck with your build!

IFS Plan B: Picking up a '69 Camaro clip tonight. Hopefully I'll figure out why I cant post pics anymore, or else this is going to be a boring thread. The time I have invested in posting pics, would have been better time well spent in my shop!
